Request for proposals are invited for Consultancy Project for on the External Final Evaluation- Staff Transitioning Process of the Demining Workforce The Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is a global humanitarian and advocacy organisation that finds, removes and destroys landmines, cluster munitions and unexploded bombs from places affected by conflict. MAG headquarters is in Manchester, UK. Since 1989, MAG has helped over 20 million people in 68 countries rebuild their lives and livelihoods after war. In 1997, MAG shared the Nobel Peace Prize for its role in banning landmines. MAG has been working in Sri Lanka since 2002 locating and removing landmines and other unexploded bombs, helping Sri Lanka to reach its goal of becoming mine free by 2028. The clearance activities are currently focused in six districts: Vavuniya, Mannar, Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi, Trincomalee and Batticaloa. The organisation operates under the coordination of the National Mine Action Centre (NMAC), which is the government body in charge of the Sri Lankan Mine Action Programme and located within the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing. MAG Country Representative Office is located in Colombo while the Central Operating Base (COB) is in Vavuniya. MAG employs over 1000 demining staff, of which 24% are female deminers, who work on a 20 to 22-day full work cycle followed by a stand-down period of 7-8 days. The majority of the field staff (95%) reside in the Northern Province.
