Description:
Objectives and PurposeThe objectives of this initiative are: to increase efficiency and effectiveness in the processes and procedures for handling child victims, witnesses and alleged offendersto provide a facility that ensures a protected environment for the child victim/witness and or offender during trial in courtto improve the quality and accuracy of children's evidence, by addressing re-traumatization of child victims and witnesses in the criminal justice system. The proposed company/team will support the establishment and maintenance of the audio-visual equipment in fifteen High Courts (Kuliyapitiya, Tangalle, Ampara, Panadura, Badulla, Nuwara-Eliya, Rathnapura, Kegalle, Negambo, TrinComalee, Puttalum, Gampaha, Polonnaruwa, Vavuniya, Kilinochchi), Fifteen Associated Judicial Medical Service Providers from the same localities and the Department of Forensic Medicine of the Kelaniya Medical Faculty [considering it being a University Center of excellence and its proximity to Gampaha and Negambo].
